My understanding is that EU elections will be held, come what may, and if the UK has not organised a withdrawal strategy by that time, then the UK will have to put up MEP candidates and then.....pay up to the EU as any other member state would have to do.

It takes two to negotiate though Sharon. Do you think any changes could be agreed with the EU that would satisfy both the staunch Remainers group and the staunch leavers group (who think the May deal was too much like Remain but not in name)?

There are various EU regulations that mean that the parliament might not be valid without sitting members from all member countries. So if the extension goes beyond June then the UK will have to have representatives in the EU parliament. In the past this has been got round by having for example a new member country having members of its own parliament attending.

What I find extraordinary is we have government ministers now saying it’s a choice between the PM’s deal and ... wait for it ... “a long delay” ! They cannot bring themselves to say it’s the deal (or “a” deal) or nothing.

If we are forced to, make sure that you vote in the EUSSR pretend elections, and make sure that you vote for the candidate that wants to give them a kicking. This is not going to stop now until either the UK or the EUSSR is destroyed.
