Adam Johnson's case provoked much discussion on here but will any top club be interested?

Yes he should, that is his job. Whether or not it is a top club is another matter.

I doubt any club would touch him.

The chap in this link,David Goodwillie, is having a very good season with Scottish club Clyde where he has been for a few years...

Yes, he has served his sentence.

Ummmm //I doubt any club would touch him.//

I think you may be surprised.Presumably,he has kept fit inside and is still young enough.

May not be a Premier club that comes knocking but I can see a Championship side doing so.

// On the first day of his trial, the winger pleaded guilty to grooming the girl and one charge of sexual activity, relating to kissing her //

Ok, it's on record, he did the crime and he did the time.
Now he should be confined to the History Books like any other
Kiddy Fiddler imo.
Yes.....he has served his sentence and there was only 12 months between , normal relationship and an illegal one.

A top club, whatever that is, will certainly come forward if he shows star quality, but not initially..
I honestly believe that, although he has served his sentence, no professional British club would take him on. There would be quite a backlash from the fans and many would refuse to pay to watch him wear their shirt. He may be able to secure a contract elsewhere - China are taking more foreign players on.
Question Author
Ken,be honest, would you like to see him at your beloved Burnley?
//There would be quite a backlash from the fans and many would refuse to pay to watch him wear their shirt//

There may be some but in reality this bloke was treated very harshly for what he did - kissing her. In France or Germany this wold never have happened. He is not a paedophile neither is he really a kiddy fiddler, even sex offender seems a bit odd.

He broke the law, has done his time so should now get on with his job and not lounge on the dole.
Definitely not, AG. Sir Sean Dyche wouldn't have him anywhere near the place.
he has to promise not to kiss anyone in the changing room, or on the field.

I mean this is a Brexit type discussion ( sudduv ground hog day all over again - with 100ABers c/p what they wrote last time and the time before that and the time ..... ) where we debate whether the prison sentence is the end of it ....

for some it is - and others not

was the defence - I fought she was over 16 ?
Question Author
Ken,that is probably true.

A club like Bolton could very well do with someone of his ability.Mind you, their main problems are financial....
youngmaf; a bit more than kissing, wasn't it? Admitted grooming the girl, found guilty of "sexual touching" but cleared of another "sexual act".
Question Author
PP,the previous threads centred on whether AJ was guilty or not.

My question relates to his future career and whether any clubs will come calling for him.
Hmmm, picking hairs there a bit and as for grooming not sure a great deal of that went on in the usual sense of the term. And lets not forget the girl only told her parents because he wouldn't see her. Woman scorned and all that.

Not saying he did wrong, in this country he did, in other EU countries (which many want us tied to) he did not.
His case has been too high profile. I've seen two posts today by The Sun on FB calling him a paedo!
"I've seen two posts today by The Sun on FB calling him a paedo!"

Well perhaps they need to look up the word then?
Let’s see if you would be so laid back if he abused your daughter
Not entirely the same as he was acquitted on retrial or something like that if I remember but didnt Ched Evans get back into football?
