/// Religion. Root of most evil IMHO. ///
As are most things, I can only speak for Christianity, although I am not a practising Christian i.e. I don't attend church every Sunday.
But Christianity has given many people comfort in their lives, why even dying atheists have been know to pray to God in their last days on earth.
And since the demise of Christianity we have seen this country fall to the depths it now is, in the past even in the poorest areas of our towns and cities, men would redeem their 'best suits' from the pawnbrokers, so that they could attend Church on Sunday, only to be pawned again on Monday morning.
Children were more disciplined back then, School assembly singing hymns on school days, Sunday School on Sunday followed by them attending church with their parents, early evening.
No roaming and playing in the streets on a Sunday back then, it was into one's best togs until bed time, when Dad would pop in to make sure that you had said your prayers.
Yes morality has certainly took a nose dive theses days, one has to wonder why?
