No, Khandro, you are not wrong. She also said the Manchester bombing was justified.
Now that the Bangladeshi government have confirmed that she would be hanged if she goes there, they have successfully outmanoeuvred the British governement. Ours would not return *anyone* to a country where they are likely to face the death-penalty.
I wouldn't be happy for her to be 'at large' in this country but would reluctantly agree that we may be forced to stump-up for her incarceration somewhere.
Of course she should not be free to roam around, she should be under arrested and a trial and then jailed
even Rees Mogg has said she ought to stay here; she's a British problem, not a Bangladeshi one.
jno //even Rees Mogg has said she ought to stay here; she's a British problem, not a Bangladeshi one.//

What do you mean by "stay here"? She isn't in the UK and she doesn't have British citizenship. Britain doesn't have the authority to Send her to Bangladesh, which would anyway be issuing a death sentence and out of order.

Life may not be as pleasant in present day Syria as it is in England, but she is no no immediate danger as far as I know, so she should stay where she is and study her actions and beliefs at her leisure.
“I think there is a fundamental equality in British citizens and if you can’t take my passport away, then you shouldn’t be able to take it away from anybody else.”

He continued: “Ms Begum should be brought back to England and prosecuted if she has committed offences, rather than told to go to Bangladesh.

“Why on earth should Bangladeshis pick up a problem that’s essentially our problem. We’re trying to put our litter in our neighbour’s garden.”
Bangladesh doesn't have to pick up the problem. She can stay where she is.
Rockrose is correct//I thought legally you could not make someone stateless? //
Now that Bangladesh states they will not accept her then she remains our problem. She should be allowed back to stand trial, and hopefully, incarcerated for a very long time.
I would guess if she were allowed back to serve time she would need protection both inside the nick and eventually out. I am sure there are groups of certain people out there who would be'happy to look after her'. Best she stays where she is methinks.
",and hopefully, incarcerated for a very long time."

And therin lies the problem in liberal justice Britain.

Some bleeding heart liberal would soon let her out and lets not forget the endless pond life lawyers on legal aid continually appealing.
Surely she’s missing her husband. Doesn’t she want to reunite with him?
MWG He has returned to the Netherlands and I doubt that they would let her in.
Danny
Would that not be against the dictat of the ECHR? . She may not be technically a member of the EU at the moment but if he has Dutch citizenship I would of thought he would be allowed to have his wife with him under crazy EU laws.
Retro, from Birmingham Live:-
//The ISIS bride, who ran away from Bethnal Green, in London, to Syria, has had the door on her slammed by Bangladesh and the Netherlands//
Thanks for that Danny
Looks like ECHR does not apply to the Nederlands or ECJ then.
No wonder I voted 'out'. :-)
// the vast majority of ABers, including myself got great pleasure in giving her a good kicking. //

only a Naomi with a heart of stone could not laugh when she reads some of the posts about the plight of Shameema

(thx to Oscar W)
// Looks like ECHR does not apply to the Nederlands or ECJ then. No wonder I voted 'out'//

I wonder why you didnt vote - "dont know"

ECHR is European ct of human rights ( freeteez beloved "ooman rites") and a country subscribes to its jurisdiction when it signs the universal declaration of human rights.
that comes from a 1952 treaty ( on human rights)

the ECJ - european court of justice is different and is a court in the european union.

Both apply to the Netherlands.
If a fella is in the jurisdiction ( er the Netherlands or the country of a signatory of the declaration of human rights) then the law affects the lucky fellow whether or not they are citizens

In short - a Romanian pick pocket doesnt say to retro say on arrest, "oh the magistrates court at Bow st doesnt apply to me - I'm Romanian!"
coz he would say - o yes it does matey !
someone has worked out that Bangla is saying she cant be forcibly returned to Bangla ?

( because you cant deport someone to face charges which face the death penalty) - so it is not Bangla's problem

or have we got bogged down in the usual daily - we are just about to murdered in our beds again tonight by brown men ?
on which so many threads seem to ship-wreck
Isn't her husband in prison in the Netherlands?
