Prudie, thousands of people think they're above this particular law. I suspect Beckham's made the news because he was unlucky to be caught: there are a lot of idiots out there. Whether you'd be better off seeing him or Prince Philip coming along the road towards you, I really don't know.

Should i add "for six months" ?
Serves him right surely somebody with his money can afford a hand free system.
Hasn't he had some close scrapes recently with regards to using his mobile while driving?

"somebody with his money can afford a hand free system."

hahahahahahaha you would think ;)
'But I've only got two' says Beckham.
I love Becks... but can't say I'm gutted on this one.
He admitted it, he got banned - quite right.
Question Author
He has taken it very well, and why shouldn't he. He's always been honourable.
Guess he thought he would be let off. I'm Beckham, I'm rich.
Question Author
No i don't think he did think he would be let off.. but who knows what he actually thinks inside that beautiful head.
Good !
Good...but is this really important news?
Question Author
"but is this really important news?"

Not in the slightest bit important.
Good - but he's not been honourable on this one, he probably assumed he was above the law. Motorists using their phones really ticks me off.

People often assume because they are barely moving, or in slow heavy traffic,or at lights, it gives them a right to check their phone. If anything, these situations are the worst situations to check your phone, because the people in front could stop any moment causing you to emergency stop, or go into the back of them.

A lot of people still use their phone whilst driving, it's good to make an example of Beckham, because everyone will notice, also he's a man that can find a lift for 6 months or get a private chauffeur lol.
Bet he was told to admit it. Didn't he wriggle out of something similar not so long ago.
LJ, he did because of a problem with the way the process was done, again he did admit the speed he was doing.

//In September, Beckham was accused of "shirking his responsibility" as a role model when he avoided prosecution on a speeding charge because of a technicality.

The father-of-four accepted he drove a loaned Bentley at 59mph in a 40mph zone in west London in January last year.

But his lawyer Nick Freeman - known as Mr Loophole - successfully fought to prevent action being taken because a speeding notice arrived one day late.//

Can't think of the lawyers name he used before to stop him getting points, but was the same one that got Alex Furgurson of speeding case because "he was rushing to get to the loo"
They are setting such a good example to al the impressionable and young people who think they are special. Are they heck as like.
