Isn't he the man for the job? a leading article in today's Telegraph suggests so, he left the government over Chequers showing resolve, his best qualities are charisma, clarity of philosophy and willingness to take risks. He is, like his hero Churchill, a singular man waiting to be called. Such politicians are often disliked for long periods of time, until their colleagues suddenly realise they were right all along and that, even if they are not necessarily wanted, they are needed. This feels more and more like the hour of Boris Johnson.

//world renowned scientists and celebrities such as david attenbourgh and Leonardo DiCaprio //
That is the cluster of names you provided. Just two amnd I chose one. David Attenorough might have a better understanding of the world and nature. That is why I didn't pick his name to comment on.
De'Caprio is an actor. That is all. He may throw lots of money around but what did he do to earn it?You can't leave a footprint and then throw money at it hoping that equals things out.
//This discussion shouldn't be about climate change. It has no relevance to the OP.//

Agreed naomi. I would prefer Boris to May or Gove.

A few months ago I'd never heard of Dominic Raab & I still know little about him, but we all know Boris for good & for worse. Boris, before he entered politics proper, worked & lived in Brussels as a journalist reporting on the EU shenanigans, and so he knows - like Farage, a lot about the organisation, which is a more than the likes of May or Hammond do & which has led to the mess which he would be the best contender to get us out of.
In fact, if Gove hadn't stabbed him in the back just before the last leadership challenge, he might have been PM now & we would be clean out, that's for sure.

The issue of climate change though, leaving aside the matter of Michael Gove, is hugely relevant to the future of the Tory Party. There is an embarrassingly large wing of it which DOES deny that we can do anything about it, which is going to turn a near future Tory party right off them, given what a massive issue it understandably is for younger voters.
Do you know what age you now have to be to be considered “too young” to vote be a typical Tory voter?
Fifty-one (!)

Have you ever considered what David Attenborough's lifetime's global carbon footprint might look like?
He's jetted and taken all kinds of vehicles to every corner - and some of the remotest - of the world, with camera crews and technicians for half a century, in fact, he must be one of the muckiest polluters on the planet!
No doubt.
But it doesn’t alter the seriousness of the issue.
Resorting to blaming individuals for their own contribution makes not a lot of sense.
Wonder how Boris fared today at Westminster Magistrates Court , where he is being accused of telling lies About his infamous Bus Advert.

What Bus Advert was that then Gulliver?
The one in his imagination.

Baldric, I hope you saw my message of thanks for what you said yesterday. For reasons beyond my control I had to post it elsewhere.

Naomi, yes I did, appreciated ;o)
:o)
OH Dear " Field Marshal The Lord Baldric " of" Herne Bay" VC DSC VD and Bar has come to the rescue again.

Do you actually have a sensible answer to my question Gulliver?
Baldric
Don't trouble him now. I think he is tripping. :-(
If he and his fellow village resident were any more stupid they would need watering twice a week. :-)
19.36 and here comes Retro to the rescue . 2/ic of the Heroes of Answer Bank.

Why is he in court Gulliver,?
Do try harder.

Ok Gulliver, can't wait all evening for you. If you had the ability to Google you would have found this

https://www.thenational.scot/news/17637239.boris-johnson-in-the-dock-can-he-survive/

// Marcus J Ball, 29, took his case against Johnson to Westminster Magistrates’ Court on February 22. He has accused Johnson of abusing public trust in his office as Mayor of London and Member of Parliament by intentionally misleading the public with regards to how much money the UK spends on EU membership //

There is no bus involved

If you have any problem with the bigger words, please ask ;o)
Less than a month ago, the Telegraph got raked over the coals because one of his articles breached accuracy regulations.

https://www.pressgazette.co.uk/boris-johnson-telegraph-column-breaches-ipso-accuracy-rules-with-no-deal-brexit-popularity-claim/

Which rather causes problems for the botty-licking hero worship in the OP. As does his support for May's Brexit deal a few months after calling it a 'suicide vest.' His record as a Brussels correspondent doesn't exactly inspire confidence either (if memory serves he was the source of the infamous 'bendy bananas' myth). He was a terrible, embarrassing foreign secretary.

He doesn't have any principles except wanting to be PM. But he has charisma and a posh accent, I suppose. Who needs ideas when you have those?
