This is the doctor who ask a mother to lift her veil so he could hear clearly what she was telling him about her child's symptoms. I believe it is her husband who is complaining, not his wife.

Evidently not
;)
//it will implement a rule that makes the pressence of a female chaperone mandatory for any patient wearing a veil. The chaperone can then remove the veil, and this nonsense will not re-occur. //

The presence of a chaperone does remove the requirement for a woman to remain veiled in the presence of a man who isn't a member of her close family.
The lengths some people will go to defend a mysoginistic a-hole never ceases to amaze me.
Who is the misogynistic a-hole?
Talbot, I honestly don't know why anyone defends this.

Spath, you've made many contributions to this thread yet you haven't spotted a mysoginistic a-hole?
The more we tolerate, the more they will demand.
I won't sign the petition because I don't believe it has reached that stage, yet.
But, I do believe that there needs to be some sort of mechanism in place that ensures no doctor finds themselves in this position, again.
Making sure that this 'complaint' is kicked into the long grass would be a start.
Particularly as nobody present at the appointment has apparently made any complaint.
The bottom line is such complaints shouldn't be tolerated. Want to speak to a doctor? Then have the courtesy to uncover your face.

Yes, he's been suspended even though as Pixie says
// nobody present at the appointment has apparently made any complaint \\.

Naomi I didn't know that ... // The presence of a chaperone does remove the requirement for a woman to remain veiled in the presence of a man who isn't a member of her close family. \\ So thank you for that information. In that case the patient should take a female friend or family member with her to appointments. It shouldn't be up to the NHS to provide for this.
^I suspect that was meant to say 'doesn't'.
Could be wrong.

I know its dreadful isn't it? just like these wimmin and those gays and all the rest......
Woofgang don’t put your words into my post on the assumption that I’m as foolish as your post is.
Woofgang, an absolutely farcical and asinine analogy.
So let’s see, the case is still being looked into (how can they reconsider firing him if they haven’t fired him??) but ABers are piling in to demand that the GMC reach the conclusion they desire, while knowing nothing more about the case than they’ve read in the Mail? Replete with the usual phrases like “could face...”

Where’s my pitchfork?
Ladybirder, oops! Should read DOES NOT!!

So sorry.
