She chose to become a Royal along with all that which goes with the position, which will entail meeting various dignities that one may not particularly like for one reason or another.

I think that this one time American actress will continue to cause embarrassment, not only to our long standing Royal Family but also to the tolerant British people.

She's on maternity leave.
Good for her.
(And it’s ‘dignitaries’)
Doesn't sound as though she understands the rules of the Royal Game but neither does Trump. Maybe it's a spoilt American person game they are playing.
If she prefers to stay at home with her baby then good on her.
She could do with some lessons from the Duchess of Cambridge.
I don't see it as a snub. She campaingned against him and meeting him now could be difficult for both sides. She has an unexceptionable reason for not attending.
The royal family is quite capable of causing embarrassment without having to fall back on the services of some Jenny-come-lately, even one as eminently qualified as an American thesp.
AOG....spot on....I agree.

Maternity leave...b..ollocks.
I do believe she is going to cause big problems in the future however on this one there is nothing to suggest this was her decision.

What an embarrassment for her husband Harry.
And this is why the royals keep out of politics.

She should just shut up and do her job. Although babysitting Archie would be a valid excuse for any normal people she has an army of nannies and staff so no excuse for rudeness.

Prudie

Then who's decision might it have been?
Nowhere in the article does it suggest that this is a snub. There may be a very good reason why she will miss the lunch.
probably can't get a babysitter.
I dunno - Harry, the Queen, advisers?? Just saying nothing in that article says it is her who has said no just that she won't be there.
Reportedly, the Queen is furious - she's had the whole household searching for her own 'get out' for weeks and still nothing. ;-)
‘Mother exercises choice to stay home with new-born’ shocker.

I doubt Trump will bat an eye lid but hey-ho.

Typical s#!t stirring non-story post by the Daily Fail hasn’t stopped the usual
Royal bashers from having a pop though.

Sad.
//She's on maternity leave.//

From what, exactly?
why don't they give the girl a break, she makes Harry happy .
I would say it's hard work putting a smile on when you're not in the mood.
