She chose to become a Royal along with all that which goes with the position, which will entail meeting various dignities that one may not particularly like for one reason or another.

I think that this one time American actress will continue to cause embarrassment, not only to our long standing Royal Family but also to the tolerant British people.

"This is a modern Royal family"

and there lies the rub.........many people would agree with that statement, but many people they would argue wants the traditional Royal Family to remain...traditional.

all about opinions..........tolerance as some would say.
Given the derogatory manner in which Trump spoke about their mother, i doubt whether William or Harry will be too eager to meet him. However, they probably don't have much choice in the matter whereas Megan does and she has chosen not to. Really can't understand why everyone is making such a big deal over this.

That's okay Tilly, you just keep your little head buried deeply under the sand, that way you won't see what you don't wish to see.
Lol AOG at too clever!! I think you mean another C word!
And after 200 posts I still can't understand why no-one has been able to prove this is Megan's own decision.
Ok Meghan....
Donal is not the sort to worry , so after that Sumo presentation he ready for anything .
Prudie, because nobody on here is privy to whatever reason she did not attend. I would imagine that the Queen knows however.
Exactly Danny, I said that pages ago but the assumption all through the thread is she did and she's either petulant or good for her depending on your stance.
I wouldn't call not reading the Sun or the Daily Mirror, hiding my head in the sand. I prefer to read articles which contain words with more that two syllables.

Okay, have it your way, 'Too correct'.
Megan M intensely dislikes Trump (can’t think why) and had said lots of hard hitting things about him in the past.
She has a convenient excuse for not going and it’s been considered a diplomatic move for her to miss this lunch. And they’ll both miss the banquet. Good decision all round - although I wouldn’t mind betting the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge wish they had an excuse too given what this revolting individual has said about her and his mum in the past.

Still, on towards 250 posts we go :-)
AOG, you are strangely silent with regard to post at 13.53.

How do you know The Mirror or The Sun doesn't, if as you say you never read them?

AND?????????????
It's all getting a bit 'ner ner ner-ner ner', now isn't it?

There is a group of folks who are disinclined to look favourably on the DoS, in any way, because she is mixed race and american..... they'd probably prefer it if she wasn't a woman, too...
Calculated guess, AOG.

I used to read The Daily Mirror when Keith Waterhouse and Paul Foot were on the payroll...and I loved Andy Capp.
Quite so, Jack. Reading this is rather like being on playground duty at school.
AOG, and??????. I expected some smart reply from you, or has it hit home?

@1406, she is no longer Megan M, and there is a h in Meghan.
