In what it called "an extraordinary month", the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders said only 70,971 cars rolled off production lines, down 44.5%.

Mike Hawes, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders chief executive said "Prolonged instability has done untold damage, with the fear of 'no deal' holding back progress, causing investment to stall, jobs to be lost and undermining our global reputation."

//undermining our global reputation//
Yep, it's become a worldwide joke.

In future I expect to see all Brexit threads in the "joke section", not news.
funny that they didn't mention the simple fact that people are buying less new cars, especially diesel. Must be a remoaner.

Worldwide?

Or aren't your cars worth exporting

// undermining our global reputation //

'Our' said the person who deserted the UK years ago but still thinks he has a valid opinion on things.
And guess what...the same is happening in Germany.

Brexit?
Rule Britannia Balders,

LOL
We just have to accept that from now on, anything that adversely affects this country will be blamed on Brexit.
And Balders, if you actually read what was posted I quoted the OP, but, I guess you were too busy taking aim with your sniper rifle.

You amuse me no end, keep living in the past, it suits you.

Tora,
But Trump keeps Tweeting tatthe S economy is ooming. Oh wait...
// President Donald Trump’s tariffs on imported steel and aluminum have hammered manufacturers operating U.S. assembly plants. //
Blame the Global warming scaremongers not Brexit. People in London are now scared to part with their hard earned because they fear which vehicle our bus driver’s son will outlaw next in his ruddy exclusion zones. Many still do not trust or want electric hybrids.

I feel sorry for the staff but cant help thinking there are more than enough cars on the road already.
Why do all the Remoaners like Gromit blame Brexit for everything? Germany is in recession but we will lead the electric car technology. Japan has pulled out of Swindon because they can sell more cars in their region. Not always Brexit.

// Japan has pulled out of Swindon because they can sell more cars in their region. //

The cars made in Swindon were for the UK and Europe market. The problem is they are crrap and no one wanted them. Brexit was the final nail, but Honda have been declining for 15 years.
UK down 44.5% v Japan down 2%. Practically a mirror image of each other.

Nothing to worry about here! Bring out the bus!
Car manufacturing, Australia down 100%.

But that was before Brexit so it probably doesn't count.
Brexit wasn't so much the issue as the EU elite's intransigence and refuse to negotiate to make the transition easier. Trade will pick up again if the goods are good quality and are correctly marketed once the uncertainty is over, and new agreements both at a commercial level and nation to nation are made. Meanwhile try not to fret nor panic just because Utopia isn't here (yet).
