Fat man tattoos!
8 Answers
I recently got a tattoo, which I had done on my ankle. I'm thinking of getting another one but I need to clarify something. I know that if you get a tattoo and then get fat (or pregnant!) it'll stretch and look a bit rubbish. But what if you're already fat (like my good self), you get a tattoo, then you lose weight? Will it look the same, or will it lose some of it's quality as your skin ''tightens?

The reason i got them here is because they are easy (ish) to hide when I need to. Also, these parts of my body do not vary too much if I lose or gain weight. I wanted one on my flat stomach but while it will look good now - it won't look so good when I get older and put weight on or have a baby. The tattoo will change but I think you would have to lose or gain a LOT of weight for it to make that much difference!
When i was about 17, and looking back now, I was lovely. I got my boob out and had a swallow done on it, I was soooooo proud. 20 years on and it looks like some sort of pelican cross with a stork? Not many girlies had tats then, (that I knew of..... just to cover myself , because loads had them including Queen Victoria) But if I had a choice now I would have it where it does show and to show it off. but if my children wanted one I would definetly advise them against it
I don't think it'll make any difference to the overall appearance. Tattoo inks go really deep into the skin and yes depending on where it is it might change in shape depending on weight loss/gain, but I would imagine it'd be pretty regular, since in any case the skin would stretch and contract as necessary.
I have large-ish tattoos on both upper arms and I lost 6 stone, and they didn't change in shape. I put some weight back on, and they still look the same to me. So I wouldn't really worry about where you get one.
