Imagine the uproar if they said.
Kill a black person.
Kill a Muslim.
Kill a Jew.
Remember Jo Cox was killed by a right wing nutter.
Are the the lovely left or the nasty far left.
I expect Corbyn will be there being cheered.

Only those already sharing a similar mindset are likely to be interested in anything these 2 attention-seeking bands have to say. But, I agree, that the howls of condemnation are likely to have been far louder should the bands have had called for the murder of the groups you mention.

ich - // So they have.
Excellent news. //

Are you planning to attend the Festival?

There are almost ninety individual performance areas in the Glastonbury Festival, so you are not obliged to watch anyone not to your taste.
The booking has been cancelled. Good.

indeed. sometimes the more memorable performances are not even on the stage. years ago at Reading Festival I laid in my tent at 3-30 in the morning listening to someone being violently sick; this went on for about half an hour, maybe more. when at last it went quiet, a little voice said "are you all right Martin?"

Do you have anything to add - why you think it's good?
Andy Hughes, I can't give you a link because, for some reason, it does not appear to be on the on line version of the Mail. However it is on my Mail Plus app. The actual wording is //"Kill Tories band gets the boot from Glatonbury"//
I await your apology with bated breath.

Well, if you insist. I don't like those lyrics or the type of people who would write them. I wouldn't like them if the word Tory was substituted for 'Labour' either. I'm pleased that they've lost a prestigious and perhaps lucrative booking.
I’m not going to Glastonbury as it happens.
A band which - even if it is “only” joking - about killing people because of their political views - especially at this time - in my opinion has no place at Glastonbury of all places.
And I’m relieved others involved think the same.
Do you remember Riot Squad in 1982 and *** the Tories?
The Exploited’s *** off Maggie you ***?
Even they didn’t advocate killing people.

I'm pleased their booking has been cancelled too. I wouldn't have though an explanation was necessary.

Do you seriously think I should apologise to you because a newspaper has embellished the truth to make a better deadline?

Seriously?
Andy Hughes //but don't let the facts get in the way of your tabloid-style post will you.//
The above comment is objectionable as far as I am concerned, but on second thoughts I would prefer your silence to an apology.

Looks like you are out of luck on both counts then.

If you are that thin-skinned that you think being compared to a tabloid is 'objectionable', then maybe the News section is not for you.

I'm disappointed the band has been banned.

Covers up (to a degree) the generally accepted double standard.

Example: "throw acid in his face" is a joke when fat, ugly lefty makes that suggestion, but "not enough beers in the world to make me want to rape you" (a remark directed at a woman who trivialised mass rape) is not a joke, but a hate crime.
