If you were educated you'd know that you are trying you are disrupting one of the better countries. Try China/US/India instead of pretending so you can skive off school.
"why should we go to school if you wont listen to the educated" - get educated, derr!

the whole point of workers striking is the withdrawal of their labour, depriving their employers of the means to conduct business.
if kids withdraw themselves from school, what leverage, exactly, do they thus exercise over..... well who exactly? the only thing they're doing is compromising their own education, their own prospects. the schools don't care, the government don't care, and those societies who are doing the most damage don't even know they exist.

Yes, but you're also paying more attention to it. And it *is* at least keeping the story in the public eye a little more.
As to the placard, I kind of see the point. The message from scientists -- ie, from the educated -- is pretty unambiguous, and it's also pretty universally ignored, or at least not taken nearly so seriously as it should be.

" Would be like saying people in work should only strike once they've clocked out."
People who go on strike usually arrange it to disrupt as many people as possible, these children are disrupting their education to take a day off. It seems it is acceptable to miss education if you're protesting about something but not have a holiday.

jim: "the message from scientists -- ie, from the educated -- is pretty unambiguous, and it's also pretty universally ignored," - not true, there are constant moves toward clean initiatives, UK and the Europe. Anti pollution taxes, Ulez, congestion charging electric cars, constant focus on renewables. Solar panels, windmills, gawd they reported we'd gone a record fortnight without using coal the other day. There's always more but I would not say it's being ignored.
