Return Banquet At Winfield House
Most unusual for Her Majesty not to attend the return banquet of the her Government's guest.
I guess at her age she has a right to bow out of all the ceremonials. After all she knows the interior of Winfield House better than President Trump.

Chalk and cheese here.
The old man was transferred from Chelsea (B Division) to West End Central (C Division) in the middle of the war.
Sir Winston Spencer Churchill would often entertain his chiefs of staff and Ladies at Claridges hotel.
My Father would find himself guarding the front door from time to time.
My Dad remarked that the Savoy and Claridges had quite deep basement shelters equipped with bars so the guests could carry on drinking when a air raid occurred.
The Prime Minister never bothered going deep but came out the front with cigar and Brandy glass in hand and scan the sky and chat to the duty copper on the front door.
The only time I ever saw my father wear his medals on his police uniform was the day he was on duty at Sir Winston Churchill's Funeral. He respected that man.
