/// Why are so many abers obsessed with who stand where and with whom, each religion has different traditions, Or is this just a wee dig at Muslims for the sake of it. ///
It is the British culture, we tend to treat the opposite sex as equals, I would have thought that you being a female you would be against this segregation, or is it because it is being carried out by the 'protected' religion?
Maybe you would show an entirely different attitude, if this segregation was carried out by Christian religions?

Just to remind you this is what Talbot put:
/// What a wonderful sight...all those men praying together...beautiful. ///
He said nothing about "only men there".

Mine isn't a dig at Muslims it is a dig at people like you and Rockrose who are weirdly blinkered to Muslim misogyny.
ummmm, your earlier scenario, forget religion...do you think it is acceptable?

/// look back on all the threads where it is suggested that women serve on the front line or women start to do a male 'dominated job'!!
Women are not treated as equals then! ///
Of course they are, men are seeking equality for women, why shouldn't they be allowed to fight on the front line or from being allowed to do male dominated jobs?

there are plenty of religions that discriminate against women. for example, you cannot get female catholic priests. Although women can be ordained in the church of England, many people do not agree with it (some even left the religion because of it). it doesn't seem very much different from making women practice religion in a different way to men. In fact, if all religions were to disappear tomorrow, there would still be large groups of (mainly) men who want to subjugate others, (mainly women) in the world. therefore I submit you can't really blame religion, but instead blame those (mainly) men who want to do the subjugating
aog - it cuts both ways. I am not insulted by jokes about women drivers, fat ladies or Crazy Cat Ladies.
Each gender has strengths and weaknesses as do individual people.
People need to 'chill' and stop being insulted by words.
None of us is perfect - we just have to try living each day being true to ourselves and helpful to others.
With that, I am off for my nap - I actually had to work for three hours this morning and I am tired.

The Metro report is an error. They made awrong assumption.
The event was organised by the 5 mosques, but attendance was open to anyone in the city and beyond.
On Sunday 750,000 people watched Liverpool FC parade with the EUFA Champions League Cup. But no one would suggest that 750,000 attend at Anfield.
