If the issue is that he "lied" and "lie" means not exactly, factually, or literally true, and that higher standards are required of any politician, then does it not follow that all political rhetoric (i.e. debate with a bit of fun) is prohibited?

And that the same strictures which criminalise any departure from literal truth condemn at the same time all caricature, parody, satire and wit?

So that's got rid of Scarfe, Hogarth and Rowlandson, Spitting Image and the Life of Brian. What are we left with? Anna Soubry and Fiona Bruce?

What a load of crap. As I said on the initial thread way back when, whilst I’m no fan of Soubry do you REALLY think it’s acceptable for a female to be hounded, harassed and shouted at(most of it within her ‘personal space’) as she entered the workplace?

Would you deem it acceptable if it happened to your wife/partner as they attended work? You’d have no problem with 8-10 angry males haranguing her as she walked along the pavement?
Oddly when I asked that question not one if the Soubry haters could/would answer it, but if getting off on watching such behaviour is your thing I guess you won’t.

If he wanted to have some chance of a successful prosecution the very least he needed was evidence of a lie rather than find something that was true and hope to find some way of twisting a claim of lying out of it. He should be prosecuted for attempted wasting of the valuable court's time and resource. And the district judge needs investigating too. I'd trust any remainer beliefs could not have formed part of any decision making process.

The NHS would get whatever portion of the saving, once things have settled down, that the government voted in by the people at that time choose to allocate to it. But surely that goes without saying. Public funds are allocated by government.

For the hard of understanding, these women were abused in a public place in almost exactly the same fashion as Soubry.
