Yes necessary ones.
Which ones are necessary?
I don't think 'necessary' applies to monuments etc.

Is it a good idea? Yes, but not sure that's the right location.

Kingston Town Jamaica, perhaps?
Some memorials are inappropriate/undesirable to some/many and some have indeed been removed. Are not all memorials sentimental ones - where exactly does necessity or not enter into such things ?
Tha's been in knife box already then.

I think like others that Brixton would have been good.
I like the idea of Waterloo, as Flo Benjamin said it would have been the first experience of London for many of the Windrushers and because its a busy place, the monument will be seen by loads of people who may not have any idea about what the Windrush was.
AOG have you been taking your unpleasant-for-no-reason tablets again?
Obliviously

No but some have, almost on a daily basis.

Some of today's generation would only use it to sharpen their knives on it.
Enjoy the rest of your day, I have no time for you.

That is not very nice of you, but do you know what?
//Flo Benjamin said it would have been the first experience of London for many of the Windrushers //

um, no it wouldn't - her geography is a little inaccurate. Empire Windrush docked at Tilbury so if they travelled by train (as Baroness Benjamin appears to suggest) their first experience of the capital would have been Fenchurch Street.
Anyone else on tenterhooks waiting on the cutting retort?

No, because Matron has just told me she no longer has time for me. Boo Boo.
I'll have a guess.

Just what you'd expect from the likes of me.
What a mean little post.
mea culpa mushroom 25. I still like the idea of Waterloo though.
I don't see the point of it, but care little if they put one up.
Unsure who makes these decisions.
