let's hope political correctness does have a place in the justice system anymore.

sorry isnt there a 'not' missing ?
We can hope - but I've got my doubts.
we dont want PC in the justice system ?
or we DO want PC in the justice system ?

anyway a depressing tale of someone whistle blowing and bystanders saying - what you doin' dat for?

I thought she ( the reporter ) was showing signs of burn-out - where you say o *** and just give up ....
There's something missing from you.
I could tell you lots and lots of things about the Rochdale situation. The things mentioned in this article, only scratch the surface.
If that is the case Clarion why not speak out?
Confidentiality.
Confidentiality? Isn't that the reason this scandal (sorry, these scandals) went "unnoticed" for decades?
Yes, it is. There are genuine reasons not to give any specifics.
well that's the issue.

I praise whistle blowers.
If I said anything, it would affect the wrong people. Anyway, "the establishment" in this country will always have ways of protecting itself.
//Anyway, "the establishment" in this country will always have ways of protecting itself.//

Like "fitting you up" and putting you in prison?
The treatment of and harm done to the victims by both perpetrators and "the system" is really bad. However, the conditions in a society which consists of a bottom level that might equate to a sewer has both perpetrators and victims sloshing about in a significantly dysfunctional society. That goes for any kind of crime, injustice, etc., not least including in the drugs world (any and all races). The class of cases under discussion is just one facet/sector. While society is divided into a myriad of us-and-them layers, "we" write off "them" as not only not our concern but also beyond help and worthless except as a negative problem for someone else to clean up. This is the pattern one sees over and over in the UK and I cannot see things improving - there is no magic solution, but the pattern is mostly unrecognised and nothing effective is being proposed, never mind actually being done about it. In fact, I am rather of the opinion things are going to get worse because, if anything, the mindset is being reinforced.
'Lessons will be learnt' is often the mantra heard but they rarely are....
Mmm. Not sure where you're going with that, Togo.
Yes you are.
No I'm not. Is this panto season? Oh no it isn't.
Quite clearly, some people on this website jump to conclusions.
I don't know why you started this nudge, nudge, wink, wink conversation, Clarion Street. If you've got something useful to say about how all the organs of state national and local, the child protection agencies and groups like the NUT and the NUJ colluded in the cover-up then please tell us.
Or maybe you're suggesting there wasn't a cover-up.

If that's the case I'd love to here you explain further.
