I certainly recognise that speech. It sounds very similar to a highly praised speech attributed to Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard. This speech was denied and snopes said it was a HOAX. It went viral. It is strange no one turned a hair when it was circulated but then it wasn't attributed to POTUS was it? //: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT....

When Trump supporters at his most recent rally were chanting "Send her back!" -- that's no longer a suggestion but a threat. An empty threat, made by people who, luckily, can't do anything about it. But that rhetoric has no place in politics. It's a disgrace that Trump simply stood there, lapping it up. And it's a disgrace that people here support that sort of nonsense.
I have been away for a few days, and I am pleased to see that on my return, the debate is still on, although it doesn't appear to have advanced beyond the repetition of each side's position.
I remain intrigued why anyone would try and defend President Trump in terms of trying to say that his statement was not racist, since I honestly believe that was entirely his intention, designed to mobilise the (sadly large) racist element in his support demographic.
The idea that the President is right to respond to an attack is absolutely fair - to defend his clear use of inflammatory racist invective to do it, is absolutely not.

// It’s a disgrace that people do not support a President who puts his country first//
and who would that be ,pray?
his country - his count-RRAAAY ! ? - you do realise that Pres Trump's cabinet is now twice as rich as they were in 2016 ? as Kristin Andersen might say - he put one thing first and it wasnt his country !

> Ellipsis - he did not make any racist remarks, but you will never be convinced of this because, along with others on here, you cannot stand the man, so you tend to make it up as you go along!
What did I make up? I posted his racist tweet, his exact words.
> If they'd kept their big mouths shut, he would have had no need to retaliate.
Retaliation is fine, racism isn't and Trump should have expected to be called out on it. I can't imagine any previous American president, e.g. George Bush Jr, saying "Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came" to people that were born in the USA. No doubt he did expect to be called out on it, since it played to his strategy of appealing to his base voters.
