Could this ring the death knell of the use of 'Vichy', 'Quisling', 'traitors', 'VBQ' etc by geezers in The Answerbank?

/// Why address it to me AOG? ///
Because it was you that attacked the so called 'geezers' when you put:

'Doubt it, their posts would be very short on content wouldn't they'?

If you don't want to get hurt when someone topples you off that fence you generally sit so as to issue your snide comments, then you perhaps you should consider what you put.

Not hurt in the slightest.

I dislike the repetitive made up acronyms, misused abbreviations, mockney etc and of course the insult hurling.

No fence sitting in my opinion on those issues.
I'm not convinced name-calling is appropriate in any conversation. It does seem to generalise everyone with the "wrong view" and doesn't add much to the threads.

Then don't insult those who choose to use the words 'Vichy', 'Quisling', 'traitors', 'VBQ' by sugesting that their posts would be very short on content, if they could no longer use such words.
TTT, me old wally, would you shout abuse at Anna Soubry if you seen her in the street?
I'm used to it Pixie - he loves me really. ;-)
I can tell :-)
TCL, me old willy wonker, no I would not, I thought they were out of order. I don't think any politician deserves that.
Glad to hear it.

Goddard is a deeply unpleasant individual, and this is his 10th conviction.
He was recently convicted of assaulting a photographer.

But I don’t think the comparison to TTT sticks. The unpleasant language and naive politics are the same, but the intent is different. Goddard wants to intimidate his victims, and unfortunately often does. TTT on the other hand is playing to his audience and just wants to entertain them. His abuse is soft, and he doesn’t even know his victims other than their avatar.
Nazi has more context and history. The other terms are just basic descriptive insults.

However I don’t think people should be prosecuted for name calling.
Ooooh, I missed this post yesterday.

The irony of complaining about made up name calling and then posting ‘anotheoldtangent’ hasn’t escaped me.

Ahhh. Answerbank. Eh?
gromit, thanks, a bit, I only seek to label correctly, those thus labelled should not feel insulted unless they disagree with themselves. Is a spade insulted to be labelled thus? Those I label VBQ etc are at least passively collaborating with a foriegn power to undermine their own nation. I have many times asked said "victims" to come up with a more apt/accurate term, none has been forthcomming. The offer is always open.
‘passively collaborating with a foriegn power to undermine their own nation’

Whereas, in stultifying ignorance of the situation they have brought about, the brexiteers continue to openly criticise the very MPs they have voted to have complete control over us.

/// the brexiteers continue to openly criticise the very MPs they have voted to have complete control over us. ///

We do not vote in MPs to have complete control over us, we vote them in to act on our behalf.

Their refusal to do so as regards the EU referendum result, proves otherwise.
Not for the first time I’m confused by your seemingly contradictory words, AOG. If your saying their behaviour over Brexit proves they don’t act in our best interests that I agree with you. But in saying that you've entirely made my point about them being in power.

AOG,
We elect MPs from various parties, which made different promises in their manifesto. But the responsibility for the Brexit fiasco is entirely the Governments fault, not all politicians.
Theresa May’s Manifesto at the 2016 General Election promised this:
// Brexit will define us: our place in the world, our economic security and our future prosperity.
So now more than ever, Britain needs a strong and stable government to get the best Brexit deal for our country and its people.
Now more than ever, Britain needs strong and stable leadership to make the most of the opportunities Brexit brings for hardworking families.
Now more than ever, Britain needs a clear plan. //

Unfortunately for May, the electorate didn’t deliver to her a strong and stable Government, it delivered a weak minority Government. Then she never got a clear plan because her Party is so divided. She negotiated a deal with the EU that the majority of MPs constantly reject. They reject it, not because they are traitors, but because they believe it is not the best outcome for the country.
2017 Manifesto.
