To The Lib Non Dems On Here.
21 Answers
struggling to get an answer on another thread from a party member so I thought I'd throw it open to the floor. Are you embarrassed that your party has openly declared that the result of the referendum should be ignored - *&^*%cks to brexit - ? Do you agree with the stance? thanks.

answered the “question” twice.
I don’t think the Lib dems ate undemocratic.
It would be odd if I did, wouldn’t it.
And I am therefore not in the least “embarrassed”.
How many Lib Dem members’ responses are you expecting.
To save you the bother in advance, if anyone else does respond they’ll say the same as me, unsurprisingly.
Because they are of a different opinion to you.

I'm not a lib dem but i can understand their position- at least theya re being clear about what they want, and they can argue that 48% of voters voted to remain and now 3 years on (given the population changes as some younger voters have replaced older voters who have passed away, and given that we know more about how awkward Brexit seems to be and given that many are fed up and just want to move on), so their veiw may now be the majority view.
ich you have not answered the question. Here it is again, answer this one, not one you made up yourself, this question is not about whether you think they are democratic or not: "Are you embarrassed that your party has openly declared that the result of the referendum should be ignored - *&^*%cks to brexit - ? Do you agree with the stance? "
ich: I asked a question, after a lot of bluster about what I did not ask, finally you answered it, I thanked you. I now know that you are not embarrassed ignoring democracy. I suspect a common trait among Lib NonDems. Now I know, thank you. Not sure why you are stamping your feet, no houses to go round, you have already done it.
What I mean is I don’t want another debate about why I think the Liberal Democrats are democratic. And why you don’t.
I am quite calmly responding to a “question” to which you already must have known the answer.
I can’t think there’s any more moisture to be got out of the mangle on that one.
Anyway, the question here is directed presumably at other members of the Lib Dems here (if there are any) so maybe they’ll oblige you :-)

ich: "I don’t want another debate about why I think the Liberal Democrats are democratic. And why you don’t. " - i don't recall us having a debate on that, you declare you think they. They have clearly demonstrated that they are not, however I have not yet attempted to debate that point. I suspect a required trait of a Lib non dem is to be able to find no anomaly in the juxtaposition between their name and their actions.
I suppose in fairness the concept of a member of a political party actually supporting their party’s main plank of policy is less familiar to Labour and the Tories :-)
The Lib Dem leadership contest was a pretty dull affair as Jo Swinson admitted. What with all that agreeing politely. I’ll take that any day :-)
