If he hadn't done the crime he would not have been in that situation so sorry no sympathy. Had he been innocent and not in prison and someone did that to him without provocation however I would be sympathetic.

Whether you find it emotionally distressing is an invalid focal point. Fact of the matter is this man was lawfully serving his punishment for what he did. It's not funny, or smart to make jokes about someones unlawful death.. especially as an ex cop. Shows they are just real people in uniform.

As usual, there will always be those who gloat over the violent death of a violent criminal.

My position on this is known, and usually attracts hostility from those thinkers - but I believe that the legal punishment under the law is what is applied, and 'rough justice' is a complete misnomer, because there is no justice involved, simply the rule of violence from the strong against the weak.
