Khafi Kareem ,a Met police officer asked for leave to go to Nigeria ( to take part in their version of Big Brither ) her request was turned down but she went anyway, whilst there she had sex with another housemate live on TV
My opinion, Yes she should be sacked,if you ask your employer for time off and you take it anyway , isn't that gross misconduct ?

Yes, I do, actually. My parents were *both* Police Officers and when you join you accept that being a Police Officer is pretty much a 24/7/365 occupation.

If one sticks two fingers up to authority, then one may be faced with dismissal as I hope that she will in this case.
ummmm Its answers we want not questions. try reading the post.
Police officers are allowed to go on reality TV, they're also allowed to have sex.

There isn't actually a rule saying police officers are exempt from making pornography.. Or is there?

I didn't realise the met and AB users were so pruse.
I'd class it as unfair dismissal if she was fired.

@spath,is there anything in the police handbook that says it's okay to have sex live on tv?
I am of a different generation to you ( clearly) and a British police officer doing this for money loses my respect anyway
"is there anything in the police handbook that says it's okay to have sex live on tv? "

No that's not how it works. Is there anywhere in the police handbook where it says it's not allowed?

Is there anywhere in the police hand book where it says they are allowed to ride elephants in thailand? No.. so they can't do that then!
Well that's one of the big problems with TV, no morals or values, they will show whatever to get viewing figures violent films of whatever. AND THEN WE COMPLAIN ABOUT VIOLENCE ON THE STREETS.??
"I am of a different generation to you"

Aye, you're of the generation that would have judged this woman for the colour of her skin back when you were at school (or your peers and their parents would)

Now you're judging her actions, and reasons for going onto this show, and meeting a man and sleeping with him.
yes, someone whose judgement is so poor that she gets involved in this kind of cess pit "show" is not right to be a copper.

Back to the OP now
If only everyone could follow your example TTT, the world would be perfect, would it not?

Spath, get over yourself lol, I couldn't care less what her skin colour is, I care that she's a British police officer who has broken a code of conduct
"Slightly off topic but what's obscene about a P.O riding an elephant wherever they are
A ) nothing "

Eh? that's not what i was getting at.. I was getting at you saying "Because the handbook doesn't say it's OK it must not be"... And i'm sure the handbook doesn't say it's OK to ride elephants but i'm sure it is.

No bobbi i think it's you who needs to get over herself. You think the lady has broken code of conduct? Pffft. She's not even on the job, she's in her own time. She can do as she wishes.
spathiphyllum - "is there anything in the police handbook that says it's okay to have sex live on tv? "
I am sure they are not that specific but I will bet that there is a rule in there about not causing the force to be brought into disrepute. She is doing that by having sex on live TV. Its the morals clause that I will assume is in the police handbook as it is in many staff handbooks for different industries, including my own.

//// she's not even on the job////
