I completely agree, Arksided.
Something dodgy about the whole tragedy.
I didn't know you could have internal bleeding from starvation and stress. I think there's more to it. Poor child.
Is Malaysia considered a 3rd world country ?
//Is Malaysia considered a 3rd world country ?//

No I don't believe so, although I'm sure that there are some places not as up to date as the could be (like China or The Philippines), its main cities and tourist-y areas are as modern as anywhere.
Thanks mozz, I thought not .
Internal bleeding came from ulcers. Stress can make ulcers flare up but not sure about bleeding.
"I didn't know you could have internal bleeding from starvation and stress." Well, if it were not possible, i cannot see anyone (even someone in a 3rd world country!) declaring that to be the case. So it must be possible.
Malaysia is a third world country.

Other terms are "Undeveloped nation".
OOps.. sorry.. the term is actually:

"developing country"
Spath, it isn't.

//Malaysia boasts one of south-east Asia's most vibrant economies, the fruit of decades of industrial growth and political stability. //

Spath No it isn't.
“Least Developed Countries”. But Malaysia is not. Malaysia is one of fastest growing economy in Asia and has the third highest GDP per capita in SE Asia
Malaysia is not considered a developed country
Spath, nobody said it was.Neither is it a 'third world country' as stated by you.
According to various World organisations, Malaysia is a "second world" country.

Although I think that distinction is more political than economic.
Very sad, whatever happened. I don't think speculation or wondering is disrespectful- it is natural to think, and want the truth. Her parents must be devastated.
If the powers that be decide to have an inquest we might learn more then.
I don't think it's being disrespectful either. It seems to me we are all horrified at the untimely death of Nora and if anything untoward is being covered up we want the truth so that the perpetrator/s are brought to justice.
//Nora Quoirin's family 'still think she was abducted from Malaysian resort and cannot grieve because of dark unanswered questions' despite police insisting schoolgirl was walking around the jungle for days before she starved to death.
But family lawyer said parents still suspect she was abducted and are waiting for the results of DNA and toxicology tests before making up their minds.\\

Of course if she was abducted that wouldn't be very good for the tourist industry would it?

Another little nugget of info for anyone still interested in this.

//Did villagers spot Nora wandering the jungle on the FIRST DAY after she vanished? Malaysian locals saw a 'white girl swimming' in a river before tragic 15-year-old starved to death a week later\\
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7363219/Did-villagers-spot-Nora-day-vanished.html

Ladybirder, don't you think it's odd that a 15 year old girl with severe learning difficulties was wondering in the Malaysian forest only between 1.6 miles from the hotel whilst over 300 people were vigorously searching for her, playing her mums voice over loud speakers and they couldn't find her?

I find it obsurd. Can she even swim??

Especially if she was alive for 7 days before she died.. that means 7 days it took her to get to where she died. (assuming no foul play)
"Charles Morell, lawyer for parents Sebastien and Meabh, said the pair 'cannot understand how Nora could leave by herself' "

Because she was too disabled to be climbing out of windows and swimming and walking miles into the deep jungle on her own.
