It would seem alright for a comedian who actually has the disability to poke fun at the condition. I'm thinking about Lee Ridley who won the Talent Show and appeared at the Royal Variety performance. The ' Lost Voice Guy'. He has Cerebral Palsy and has to pre record his routine. He was brilliant and as I said he made light of his condition, made jokes about it and kept the audience laughing. Even fellow sufferers applauded his act. No-one seemed upset or offended but when a comedian who doesn't have a disability makes one joke about it a lot of people immediately take offence.
The reason I didn’t get the joke Loony is because I simply didn’t understand it.
I’d never have made the “florets” “Tourette’s” connection in a million years.
Ikky is quite right. The "joke" was pathetic. I saw the list of the top ten of these from the Edinburgh Festival and they were all rubbish. The only people having a laugh were those who compiled the list.

yes Andres and I think that is right. I am not personally offended by the joke although I think its stinks as a joke. What I do say is that I can understand why people with Tourettes might be offended and I don't think that their taking offence should be dismissed as "oh its just a joke"
How much of Morecambe and Wise would be allowed today, and the were pretty innocuous? Two men sharing a bed before the watershed, Angela Rippon's legs, mocking Previn etc etc. They would probably be banned!
Arksided, no its the Tourette's Association and people who have Tourette's. That's my point, this is not the usual thing of people getting offended on behalf of other people; its people who have a right to be offended.
