The 1975 are providing profits from a song on their latest album to Extinction Rebellion, which has prompted a Tory MP sending them a letter.

David Davies makes fair points doesn't he?

Surely The 1975 (and Chief Luvvie Emma Thompson) are completely fair game when they show their breathtaking hypocrisy, aren't they?

If David Davies (who he?) is genuinely concerned about climate change (which I seriously doubt given the tone and content of his letter) then I agree he has a right to engage.
However he sounds like a typical cynic.
Why has he bothered himself with this?
It isn’t quite on the level of the putrid Arron Banks tweeting (in effect) that he hoped Greta Thunberg’s boat would sink but this criticism is easy and boring.
We fly too much we eat too much red meat etc etc. It’s not going to be cured by random acts of candle-powered steam boat valour or the odd band cancelling a world tour and staying at home to eat celery.
// If David Davies (who he?) is genuinely concerned about climate change // who he den indeed

oh it is not the ex Brexit minister
so I cant tell you about him
NO - yes I can
THAT david davies Brexitty one
was the one in 2005 who read the police and auxiliary units reports and debriefs on the London Bombs and said
you had better get out there onto the streets and listen to what people are saying, they are saying the police and firemen ran away....

and yes the reports began with things like
All in all, the day went quite well....

complete rewrite and hallett inquiry ....

I have no idea whether he's genuinely concerned about climate change or not....but that's neither here nor there. The point he's making, of course, is highlighting that if The 1975 are so so concerned about climate change, then why are they jetting off all over the world on a tour which will spew out a load of stuff that contributes, we're told, to climate change.
Tony Blair , "Things can only get Better ", and they did under his leadership .
He says in his letter “there may be a climate emergency” which sounds very much like “I doubt it and I don’t care anyway”.
Up to him I guess how he used HOC stationery but sounds to me like a man with too much time on his hands.
David TC Davies (Not to be confused with the other useless Tory Brexiteer of a similar name) . He is denouncing hypocrisy.
Is this the same barking anti Europe, arch Xenophobe, and pro no deal Brexit Tory who employs his Hungarian spouse as his assistant?
Obviously paid for by the British tax-payer. - well obviously.

Is that the 1975 flying off to play a gig ?
I thought it was quite amusing. Lefty's too thick to 'get' humour.
