Apparently according to an ex immigration official, they are first given a though medical check over, found accommodation and then set free, until their request for British citizenship is considered, those who don't wish to go through this, just disappear into the black economy.

In a radio interview one ex border official said that some may be landing, further East down the coast in Devon.

I ask you, no wonder he is an ex border official.

The UK Border Force has halved since the conservatives took over in 2010. The Government treat this as a low priority compared to other contries

UK coastline is 7,723 miles and we have 3 patrol vessels.
Italy coastline is 4,722miles and they have 600 patrol vessels.

Gromit, if you increase the number of Border Force vessels then you merely increase the number of illegal migrants intercepted, I mean rescued and brought safely ashore.
