What are those that voted against it or abstained, most worried about?
Losing the election or the Conservatives winning, which would show that the electorate are happy with a no deal.

I reckon no deal would be the best bet.
They are bricking it. They know full well that Boris will romp home if given the chance.
The opposition have been calling for a general election for a long time. Now they get offered one they turn it down. I don't get it. If they are that sure that we don't want to leave with a no deal why are they scared of having an election or is it just the fact that it is just the majority of MPs don't want a no deal and they are not bothered about what the rest of the country want. It seems they just want a major bargaining chip taken off the table. Really 3 years on and no further forward.

The Tories (Theresa May) truned it down too, Shedman. Why? Because they thought they would lose, bearing in mind what had happened at the 2017 election. Opposition parties have truned it down for the same reason. What you are saying is, it's ok for one lot to turn it down but not the other? They've both rejected a GE in recent months and weeks. can you find anyone to blame for that?
10cs The difference is that Corbyn has been clamouring for an election and when given numerous chances he refuses it.
Yes I blame them all for the mess and laughing stock they have now made this country around the world. If the opposition are so convinced that the country only wants Brexit with a deal then what have they got to lose by having a GE. To be honest I just want it over one way or the other as I am sick to death of it being just about the only thing the news and many other programs has on these days.
The Tories were also offered that chance under Theresa May, and SHe refused it. There's no difference. Except this is another chance to criticise Corbyn. It's hypocritical.
Well done the opposition , keep the little runt in office with no Power , its the Opposition that have the power now, keep him there until 2022. The idiot has sacked any Majority he might have Gained, WAP.
10cs. You are missing the point.Theresa May was not clamouring for an election as Corbyn has been for weeks.
In some ways it is hard to criticise Corbyn as he will never say what he actually wants. I just wish he could come around to my house and paint my fence as he always seems to be sitting on one.
above all the majority of the HOQ is determined to thwart the will of the people and they'll twist and turn like twisty turney things.
They think we'll get so sick of it all (I'm almost there) that in the end we'll say 'oh stuff Brexit, never wanted it anyway' !! Just kidding, I still want it ..
The concern was over the date of the election. The Government has said it wanted an election on 15th October which is before the next EU meeting and before Brexit. Parliament could have agreed to that but the PM could then change the election to a date AFTER 31.10.19.

This is why Parliament passed an Act requiring the PM to ask for an extension of Brexit to 31.1.20.

Only after the extension is agreed, will the opposition agree to an early election.
TCL why do you think the EUSSR will agree to an extension even if we do ask?
Corby, //Only after the extension is agreed, will the opposition agree to an early election.//
There may be a way that Boris can circumvent that. If the Queen's Speech is voted down it will lead to VONC and that will lead to an election.
I have just noticed the answerbank always appears on the Far Right of my task bar
