What are those that voted against it or abstained, most worried about?
Losing the election or the Conservatives winning, which would show that the electorate are happy with a no deal.

I don't get it. If they are that sure that we don't want to leave with a no deal why are they scared of having an election or is it just the fact that it is just the majority of MPs don't want a no deal and they are not bothered about what the rest of the country want. It seems they just want a major bargaining chip taken off the table. Really 3 years on and no further forward.

The Tories (Theresa May) truned it down too, Shedman. Why? Because they thought they would lose, bearing in mind what had happened at the 2017 election. Opposition parties have truned it down for the same reason. What you are saying is, it's ok for one lot to turn it down but not the other? They've both rejected a GE in recent months and weeks. can you find anyone to blame for that?
Yes I blame them all for the mess and laughing stock they have now made this country around the world. If the opposition are so convinced that the country only wants Brexit with a deal then what have they got to lose by having a GE. To be honest I just want it over one way or the other as I am sick to death of it being just about the only thing the news and many other programs has on these days.
The concern was over the date of the election. The Government has said it wanted an election on 15th October which is before the next EU meeting and before Brexit. Parliament could have agreed to that but the PM could then change the election to a date AFTER 31.10.19.
This is why Parliament passed an Act requiring the PM to ask for an extension of Brexit to 31.1.20.
Only after the extension is agreed, will the opposition agree to an early election.
