I'm sceptical of raising kids like this. Happy to raise them in a way that gives them the freedom to choose, eg if a boy wants to play with "girls' toys" then what's the harm in letting them? But it's hard not to wonder if the parents will be disappointed if the child "decides" that they're cisgender.

But none of that would matter nearly as much as the fact that people outside the family know this already. What are they doing on camera?

If there is any bullying against this child, it'll be by children who receive their views from the sort of parents who brook no argument, finish sentences using "end of!" and deem anything outside their own narrow viewpoints prejudices and 'PC cobras'....

Did the grandparents never babysit or ever see the mother bathing 'it' or changing the nappy? We have to refer to these cases as 'it'because apparently they are the third gender.

On a practical note, I wonder how the parents explain why the stories their children read in books, or see in films, refer specifically to boys and girls? The more I think about the truth being withheld from a child, the more complicated that explanation becomes.

Kids don't start bullying as soon as they start school and by the time the child starts school I'm sure they'll know what gender they are anyway.
