I always thought dolls were gender neutral (other than the Barbie sort) as they never had any male or female bits, even action man was a bit pointless lol and it was just the clothes that was gender specific.

Or have I got that we OMG?

i had a tin robot toy, if memory serves me, and a teddy bear
so barbie becomes barry, ken/kendal, swap clothes and it's either.
i dont think children really think about it, i could be wrong?
after all there just playing.

The only people who care are the stupid and prejudiced adults. The children don't give a monkeys about their toys gender. In fact, gender neutral dolls may even enhance their play, leaving them to choose whatever gender, personality etc their imagination wants.
