Many of the "most vulnerable in our society" that I see cannot stir themselves to get out of bed to get their breakfast in the morning. Instead they have it delivered by moped from MacDonald's (coffee included). I doubt they'd be energetic enough to vote.

Yes, you have got it wrong, 10CS. My remarks have nothing to do with the Daily Mail. They are opinions that I have formed from my own observations and which I have explained on here many times previously. But I'll do so again.
There is a large number of people in the UK who are perfectly fit and able but who have no intention of doing any work whatsoever. It’s their choice of lifestyle, not something that has been forced upon them by circumstances. They can be seen wandering round towns (my nearest town among them) and cities, smoking away, tapping on their latest mobile phones and wandering between the pub and the bookies. Not for them the tiresome business of dragging themselves out of bed at some unearthly hour to earn a crust in what may be a difficult, physically hard or boring job. It seems in some quarters that these are automatically classed as “vulnerable”. That’s where I part company. It is the people who are dragging themselves out to work day in day out and who pay their taxes to support the lifestyle of those I mentioned who are vulnerable if anybody is. They are vulnerable to industrial accidents, working when they may not be fully well and generally living the regimented lifestyle that a working life demands.
Moving on to the other aspect of my post, not far from me is, unfortunately, a previously lovely pub that has been converted to a MacDonalds “Drive-Thru” (sic). In the last year or so the “restaurant” has taken to making deliveries. Passing by at between nine and eleven in the morning one can see a fleet of scooters coming and going, their large luggage boxes on the back being loaded with “breakfast” and cardboard cups of coffee. Whilst it is only a guess, it is my opinion that most of this stuff is being delivered to some of the “vulnerable” people I mention above. I have seen a number of the deliveries being made to the local “affordable” flats. It struck me that the occupants of these flats (many from the group I described above) are having a nice comfortable morning, watching whatever has replaced the Jeremy Kyle Show, having their breakfast cooked and delivered by people who are doing their best to earn the proverbial crust. It seems quite curious that some people can loaf about all day every day and have their lifestyle sustained by others who not only have to wait on them but are also paying the very taxes and National Insurance contributions that enable those whom they serve to lay in bed instead of going to work.
Possibly I’m wrong. All the unfortunate people I see in my local town in the middle of the afternoon may be desperately seeking work and their skills must lay in the hospitality or gambling businesses. Possibly all these breakfasts are being delivered to hard working folk who do not have the time or the facilities to fend for themselves and are too rushed off their feet to boil a kettle. But I don't think so. Somebody is paying for a large number of people to lay in bed until it’s time to toddle off to the bookies or the pub and I don’t think those beneficiaries will wrench themselves away from their agreeable lifestyles to go to the polling station.

Thanks NJ. A really good and interesting reply. I appreciate it, I really do. When I used to work nights, occasionally I would get a take away from MacDonalds on my way home. Other times, I would go home and help the children get ready for school, then go for a take away. On further occasions I might have to go to the shops for something. Other work colleagues told me they would do the same, but on different days. I'm not familiar with your location but you will obviously know it best. I see some of those things in this area, NJ, but they are not always what they seem.
