Between April and June of this year (which is the most recent period for which figure are available) the mean number of days from first listing in the magistrates’ court to completion in the Crown Court was 163 days. So that's around 5½ months but there can still be quite wide variations on that figure. (Last Friday a judge in Ipswich Crown Court criticised the delay in court procedures when sentencing a man who'd been arrested for the offence, for which he'd then pleaded guilty, back in September 2017).
