looks like some of the public have had enough of these eejits disrupting their daily lives. Good on them. Personally I'd have just let the train drive off with them on, they'd soon jump off!

I'd have thought that public transport is what they'd be supporting.
Total halfwits. Looks like he got a well deserved thumping.
Great risk of being sued if you drag some nutter off the top of the train and they get injured. They have a human right to be allowed to stay on the top of the train.
What right do they have to stay on top of the train
?
And other people have a human right to get home, og.
And no one is stopping them. Busses outside.
OG //. They have a human right to be allowed to stay on the top of the train.//
How do you come to that conclusion, they were trespassing ?
SK - The man who got a thumping was just a cameraman, not a protester.
Because we all know that any action is a human right. Tsk... really !

what I don't get is, that surely these people would rather we all didn't have private cars so public transport is the obvious answer so why are they disrupting that?

Tosh, is committing a crime a human right?
Buses.
Which station is it, Acton? ;-)

A bit odd disrupting a form of transport that they approve of. I suppose that highlights the contradictions of their cause. Maybe they should go to India, China and the Brazilian rainforests to make a protest against the worst examples of environmental damage.
I agree with that drmorgans, God help them if they did this in China.....or even France come to think of it,the water canons would be on them there
this ER has gone on for far too long, it disrupts so many people trying to get about their business. As to getting on the roof of a train, what brain dead individual does that, serves anyone right if they fall off.
what gets me more is seeing kids go on camera, like the BBC news last evening and expound on having no cars because of the pollution. Perhaps it would be expedient to ask one of these kids whether mummy or daddy has a car and how they get to school
Are you sure Ummm? Is he not extinction rebellions social media accounts broadcaster who is a member of ER himself and was filming it all for their own site?
I think the Extinction Rebellion activists are guilty of appalling behaviour based on a seriously overdeveloped and utterly unfounded sense of self-righteousness.

If they honestly want to create change in terms of government policy and thinking, which are the only places where a serious difference can be made, then they should be addressing their concerns to government, not disrupting the lives of citizens going about their daily lives.

The notion that upsetting strangers brings them around to your way of thinking is as facile as the notion that 'climate change' can be altered by the actions of individuals.
andyh totally agree, its not how you win friends and influence people.
