From a turning on the right hand side of the road, a police car was wanting to pull right, into my direction and side of the road.
Being a police car, someone flashed to let them out on the right hand side of the road (the 10/15 MPH flow)
The police car just assumed because they are high viz and authoriterian that i would simply slam on my breaks, and let them out. I didn't.. I carried on with the flow of traffic as stopping would have been hazardous to those behind me. The police car nearly hit me in the drivers side of the car with its arrogance. Driven by a woman, on her own.
I was appalled and shocked. My passenger lifted his arms as if to say "What are you doing. The person behind me, did what seemed like an emergency break (there was a little squeak of tyre) and let out the police car so it was then behind me. To be fair, the squeak may have been from the police car stopping as to not hit me.
Anyhow, the police car was now behind me, so i gave the driver a look of, if we crashed that would have been your fault, and carried on with my journey. She left me plenty of room after that.

// "His focus was on the primary hazard - the cyclist //
The cyclist wasn’t a hazard. It was another road user obeying the law to the letter. It is bad driving to pass at an traffic island where the road narrows. In this instance there was ample room to pass safely but the police driver inexplicably messed up.
It would be appropriate to ban him from driving until he passes his Driving Test again.
