One of the worst images so far, for me, is that Deputy Chief Constable reading from her phone.

Thoughts and prayers..............
That's not a phone she's reading from. It's a piece of paper attached to a clipboard.
This is horrendous, but I don't understand how in today's legal minefield, that they can name and show pictures of the driver who picked up the container and then call him a murderer.
Where does this 'container' stuff come from?

It's a refrigerated trailer.

And it didn't come from Ireland/Holyhead. How can such duff information be broadcast all day?
Thay's very posh, Douglas. Known in the trade as a Fridge Box.
That's a phone, Doug. I was going off brainiac's link.
And i think that some reports are calling it a container while others call it a trailer.
Yes the Holyhead thing was a real boo boo. It seemed odd that they’d come that way and then go all the way down to a channel port in the S East.
I think the duff info about Ireland/Holyhead came about because that's probably the way the tractor came from NI.
Phone, clipboard, makes no odds. Just a prepared statement read out, as is the common practice. Where it's written is irrelevant.
The cab started in Ireland. It picked up the container (presumably with inadequate checks made) in Purfleet. Details will be interesting when they are finally understood.

Allowed because he happens to be white.
I see that there is there is some doubt as to where the trailer originally came from.
To ease the boredom on long motorway journeys around the UK, we often take a note of the country of registration on foreign truck number plates, to see which has come the furthest. Many times the registration plate on the trailer is from a different country to that of the tractor unit. I am not including trucks with the chained on plates that are mainly used on UK registered vehicles.
Apart from anything else, this might explain why many of these trucks seem unworried by speed limits.

Nonsense, aog. Whatever colour he is, he was the driver.
BREAKING NEWS: The 39 were Chinese. Shocking.
APG, Link?
I wonder which route they took?
