How will you feel knocking on doors in the dark leading to the December GE?

I can honestly say I can not remember a time for a long time, that a candidate has knocked on our front door, they seem to do all their hustings in front of a TV camera now

Rather a silly question by KB

I've not had a candidate knock on my door for the last four elections. Consequently, seeing as none of them want my vote, I very generously and contradictorily vote for all of them!!

Likewise Vulcan
I've lived at the same address for 35 years and I can't recall any candidate at my door.
I would have more respect for them if they knocked on my door during the rest of their term to ask if there was anything I needed their help with. Why only do it when they need your vote? Hardly likely to make you change your mind if you have already decided.
It might depend where you live.
Plainly a candidate can not knock on every door also.
Hustings are something I’d like to go to. I thought most constituencies had them?
I've had them call, but it's rare. To be honest I'd rather they didn't as long as they've explained themselves in the literature. That I can read in my own time. And if they support their party line chances are they're off the possible list.
MPs hold surgeries in most constituencies don’t they?
More efficient than going round asking people if there’s anything they want
I've lived in this house for 14+ years and have only ever seen 1 local councillor during elections. That was 4 years ago and I haven't seen anyone else since.

Going back years when a GE was called, vans with loud speakers went round asking people to vote for their party, also came to the door offering lifts to polling stations , although I concede that many who can’t get to a PS now, will use a postal vote, I do and I’m able bodied
Sadly some MPS in inner cities will have areas where they wouldn't want to be out at night knocking on doors.
People get annoyed with door knocking.
I understand that the candidates cannot knock on all doors but we've had the same MP for the last four elections. I would have thought they could have devised some method of visiting everybody in all that time. Why does it have to be just at election time? Even my rector visits occasionally, which is generous because I don't visit him.
I’m not sure why, but Kay burley irritates me ,!
I get a little bit, ( only a little bit) annoyed when people knock my post's. The only people that annoy me at the door are the post man or parcel delivery man, who for some reason have to hammer the ruddy door down with their fist, when there's a ruddy bell in front of their nose. HO HO :0)
Question Author
I don’t get annoyed ( but Miss Lola,she does ) ho-ho-ho
Totally agree teacake, most delivery men hammer my door, ring the bell and then hammer the door again. My first thought is usually "Is that the police?"
Bobbs, no need to go over the top 2 ho ho's are plenty, but as you get closer to the jolly season, you may do 3 ho ho ho's just saying. :0)
They only knock on pre-arranged doors with a media camera-man there on the spot. They won't be out 'in the dark' because that would require extra lighting.
Question Author
I shall remember it, ho-ho only till nearer the time :0/
Ho gawd, I wish you'd stop doing as I say, and fight back. ;0) ;0)
