That may be true. But 42,265 people (75% of those who voted) put their cross against her name last time out, an increase of almost 11,000 on 2015. She has held her seat in Hackney North and Stoke Newington (where I lived for 24 years) since 1987.
Take nothing for granted because there are a lot of people willing to be fooled all of the time out there.

I work for the biggest steel producer in the UK and it doesn't sound good for Corbyn and co judging from the talk on the shop floor where I work in the West Mids can't speak for Port Talbot or Scunthorpe although I'd guess the shop floor talk is similar at Scunthorpe. The Labour party doesn't represent the 'Working Man' anymore.
I apologise in advance.
When I saw the header my first thought was that I never knew the Abbott had been suffering from constipation but was now cured.
In my limited bubble, the folk who I know who were labour voters stopped voting labour some years ago when they felt that labour didn't connect with them anymore.

//...but this time, going on social media alone, feels like it will be different.//
It was said to be "different" in 2017, ummm. The same-ish Labour Party was around with the same-ish candidates. But Ms Abbott still increased her vote by 11,000. If she is not returned in her north London seat then all bets really are off.

i have a friend who votes Labour, though she may not this time as she doesn't like Corbyn, but i fail to see why she supports Labour at all. They are quintessentially a middle class family with all the aspirations that come with that, home ownership, full time jobs and getting their children into the best schools.
