Is Boris Johnson Starting To Appeal To Traditional Labour Voters?

He has pledged to reduce unskilled immigration as, he says, it puts a strain on public services and holds down wages.

Surely this will appeal to traditional Labour voters won't it?

Particularly in light of idiot-in-chief Abbott promising unfettered immigration from any toilet in the world.

ToraToraTora Thanks for a sensible question amongst some quite worrying remarks. I think both BJ and Corbyn have taken their parties in huge swerves to the extreme. Corbyn comes over as more approachable and at least someone who has some idea about normal people. He does not indulge in the ghastly name calling and privileged Latin banter of BJ and is more measured in his manner. Cf that awful afternoon in HC. I don’t think he is the right leader as he needs to be more clear. I understand why he is not committing but and wonder sometimes whether this is a very clever strategy.... but I’m not sure. I wouldn’t vote for him. A choice between the two? I’d vote Corbyn holding my nose. Fortunately I have a better choice now and this is how it should be. I can vote for a tried and tested MP who works hard for her constituents and who is honest in her actions.

There’s a strange anomaly going on here. Labour supporters continually bemoan what they see as the failings of Conservatives, but with one exception, none tell us exactly why they’re voting Labour this time around. That one exception was diddlydoo who maintains that she is voting Labour because she is in possession of a social conscience – a strange claim indeed when you consider that, given the opportunity, Corbyn & Co will alienate business which will not only discourage investment from abroad but will ultimately put the working man out of work – hence making both him and the country poorer. Social conscience? I think not.

Can anyone else explain why they are voting Labour – and saying ‘Because they’re not the Conservatives’ is no explanation. Over to you.

I reckon the Tories will win the most seats, but there will not be a 100 majority. They may not get any majority, a hung parliament was my early prediction.

This was my guess (but it was before the Remain pact and Farage standing down in 317 seats).

IF there are any disgruntled Labour voters prepared to swap their vote, the more likely lucky recipients would be the LidDems. The Tories would be the last choice.

Two of our close friends - staunch Labour voters from a mining area in South Yorkshire, now retired, are now going to vote for Boris. I never would have expected that ever to happen - they were so commited to the labour party.

Labour didn't win. The Tories didn't get a 100 seat majority.

My prediction this time is Labour will win slightly more seats than the Tories but will not have a majority. Or will have a small majority.
