OK, maybe one to file under wishful thinking.

// Youth campaigners have stepped up efforts to oust Boris Johnson from his constituency with grassroots organisations increasingly hopeful they can make history by ensuring he is the first prime minister to lose their seat at a general election.

Despite speculation that Johnson might have relocated to a safer seat, it was confirmed on Thursday that he would stay put, ignoring an internal assessment from CCHQ that he is potentially at risk.

The decision has prompted a network of groups to intensify their targeting of the constituency with the focus on galvanising the youth vote. //

Boris’ majority is relatively small (he halved it in 2017) and Conservatives concede it is at risk. And the PM has to be away electioneer nationwide, neglecting his own constituency (in which he doesn’t live).

Might be your wish, but it certainly isn't mine.
If he did lose they would ennoble a Tory from a safe seat and create a by-election. (Assuming the Cons are still in power!)
i sincerely hope he doesn't.
Dave, how could they do anything about it.The only way for Boris to lose his seat is if he is beaten in the election, which would mean that someone else would be th MP for that seat.
I can't wait to watch the declaration in Uxbridge and see him lose - that would be even better than the "Portillo moment"!
Dream on Diddly, Won't happen.

as Dave says, raise (say) Sir Christopher Chope to the peerage, creating a by-election in his (safe conservative) seat of Christchurch, into which Boris would be parachuted.
We can but HOPE !!!

Interesting idea. Why would anyone volunteer to stand aside from their recently won safe seat? And would the voters, being asked to go and vote again for no real reason, just not bother?
Diddly 14.05 I have got the Champagne, my house or yours.
Gulliver, don't open the champagne, it will go flat when Boris retains his seat.

Calm down, it is probably not going to happen. Saying they will mobilise young people, and actually getting them to vote are two entirely different things.
So, yet another anti Tory post gromit, can we now stop this pretence that you are not a Labour supporter?
"Diddly 14.05 I have got the Champagne, my house or yours."

can you imagine it...hour after hour watching Teletubbies repeats interspersed with hide and seek..and the champagne unopened because between these two might intellects they cant work out how to get the cork out...
I can’t find a link but I read somewhere this morning that he said the job was more demanding than he’d anticipated – or words to that effect – so if he does lose his seat he may well be rather pleased.

Naomi,
Boris might be pleased to lose his seat (the leadership of the Conservative Party and his Premiership).

And a lot of other people would be happy with that too. We should all work toward that cause.

How do you suggest we do that? You’ve been asked several times how you’re voting but as yet no answer. Some political warrior who consistently refuses to put his money where his mouth is.
