Pixie374 - "is that what I should be doing now?"

Yes. I understand that you're a person who sees everyone as equal. But, it's important to remember the racial history some have endured as to not make light of it or appear ignorant to the struggles they may have faced.
how is this any different from how things have always been? Surely people with good manners have always tried to avoid making comments to people that would hurt or offend the person they are talking to?
Right, thanks... luckily we get to know people individually in our work instead. Obviously it isn't the same when serving strangers though. I would obviously not be suited to it, as I barely notice skin colour.
I do understand that, thedevil, honestly. I have got complacent maybe, working with them, to the point it doesn't even consciously register that someone is a different colour, until they say something about it. I will try to take more notice.
I don't see that the staff did anything wrong. Even if they'd understood the problem fully, there's nothing they could have done about it.
Here's another potential compo claim. I think, even if I had never eaten meat in my life, I would recognise slices of it on a Pizza. I'm sure it was also a genuine mix up.

Errm people are dying from the cold and someone is worried about a bloody banana and informing the police - give me strength !!!
Bananas are good for strength.
And good for helping to prevent strokes ..
The Wetherspoons/Banana issue was not a mistake Retro, therefore 'also' doesn't apply - it was someone with a nasty streak.

Dominos have handled the other case poorly, a brush off of 'deal with it' just isn't good customer service.

It was a mistake to blame the staff imo.
Understood.

That wasn't clear in your response above.
