Hmmm …. Have they thought about who’s going to pay for that? I'll tell them. The consumer - with everything he buys - from household fuel to transport to food! That'll help the poor!!

They’re even scaring the unions!

What was the phrase 'squeezing them til the pips squeak'?
They just don't get it, taxing anything or anyone who they deem to be profitable or wealthy will make them go elsewhere to invest their wealth.

I'd have thought the unions would have seen sense to avoid friendship with Labour when labour became noo labour and forgot their roots.
And the more important thing is that any money raised will not fund any "green" plans or tackle any alleged crisis or emergency. It will be lost in the noise and will simply go towards servicing the enormous additional debts that a Labour administration will accrue.

//They just don't get it//

And incredibly neither do their supporters, alba. It can't be THAT difficult to understand, can it?
Naomi, you are making the mistake of thinking they apply logic and rational thought...
Agree with you NJ.

Another phrase pops in, Naomi (I seem to be doing that a lot recently !)
There's none so blind as cannot see.

It's completely potty though, alba. It's not as though oil and gas are things we can all do without. We can't boycott it. We all need it and it stands to reason that the companies and their shareholders who have invested their money in those companies aren't going to lose out because Corbyn & Co aren't compos mentis!
You're right - it will be the consumer who will pay.
(I'm hoping that Dec 13th will be a lovely day - a blue landslide and all other colours fading away to lick their wounds)

Don't we get most of our gas from Russia? or is that no longer/never has been so?
Also going to nationalise the railways and public utilities. All the money for this to come from his magic money forest?
Question Author
I swear they're not all the ticket, danny. They can't be.
I suppose it is easy to spend billions they don't have when they have little chance of being in a position to make good their promises.
"when they have little chance of being in a position to make good their promises."

Hmm, it's not over until the fat lady sings.

There are an awful lot of jealous thick people out there - and gormless students.
alba - it's not "there's none so blind as those who cannot see".

It's: There's none so blind as those who WILL not see.

Important difference!
ymb, I think the students may remember Corbyn changing his mind about the promised abolition of student grants.
I certainly hope you are correct Danny. However dont forget we have a new batch of gullible s who didnt vote last time.
Question Author
Where are diddly and Gulliver when you need them?
The amount of carp they have suggested recently you would think they didnt want to win.
The whole Labour tax policy is just completely bizarre. They just seem to point at things and think 'yep, we can tax that' without any comprehension that the more you tax the more people/companies will avoid tax.

They just don't get it.

Here's an idea - charge everything at 20%. Income tax, corporation tax, inheritance tax.....everything. There can then be no argument. The 'poor' (in Labour parlance that means anybody earning under £80k) and the 'rich' (in labour parlance that means anybody earning over £80k) all pay the same % amount. Those earning more will pay more, those earning less, won't.

As the Demi-God Del would say, bonnet de douch.
I've just realised I'm talking nonsense....

It's not bonnet de douch. I meant bonnet de douche!
