I think by allowing the LGBT brigade to push their own agenda, we are in great danger of destroying childhood innocence - and that, in my opinion, is simply wrong. Their problems, like those of any other adult, should be of no concern to little ones.
At a certain age, probably when they start asking questions, it's a good thing to teach about the mechanics of sex, and it's worth educating about relationships too. I doubt one needs to dwell too long on the fact that some don't conform to normal hetro relationships, or even accept the sex they are. Mentioning it in passing should be fine. As for parental opting out, it's difficult to agree to state overriding parental rights, but it's sad that some may not be informed to a reasonable degree.
