Both men have areas they are more or less comfortable on: Corbyn is weak on Brexit Johnson on his promises on the NHS etc which are not costed. Labour’s plans ARE costed, which of course may not necessarily be a vote winner!
In any case looking for winners in these things is usually pointless. But I still think they are worth watching.

what did people expect them to say ?....what they say in these "debates" is irrelevant...
most sensible people know that the fool corbyn is a marxist anti semite who prefers the company of terrorists and will go back to being a placard waving marcher any day now..
still, it gives the OP yet another chance to try and have another extremely tedious pop at Boris...

While not as laughingly meaningless as “Strong and Stable”, “Get Brexit Done” is equally irritating.
The Government have had 3½ years to get Brexit done, and they haven’t. And repeating the phrase constantly, it loses its impact, until it has no impact at all.
A soundbite should last a day, after that people get fed up with it. Stretching one for six weeks is tedious.
I would call last nights debate a draw. Both were uninspiring and dull. Not surprising from a shambolic lacklustre Government, and the worst Opposition in living memory. It is a shame that one of them has to win, because we will all be the losers for the next 5 years.

The winner? Those of us who have been pointing out the rancid and puerile behaviour of the News manipulators. It seems that the rest of the World has cottoned on now.(Not all mind, some are selectively blind)

I have watched a few and the formats have been baffling, individual, head-to-head, all and sundry including bag-carriers and, other than Andrew Neil one-to-ones, they've been dull and uninformative. The problem is that each main broadcaster BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, thinks they have a right to interview who and how they like. Just too much for the banal Get Brexit Done / Save the NHS / Stop Brexit posturing.
The papers seem divided on who came out best.
Wasn't there an investigation in the USoA which looked at the Nixon/Kennedy contest. Where those who listened on the radio generally concluded that Nixon had come out on top, but those watching on TV concluded Kennedy had ? Shows how much value these nonsense head to head programmes are. People swayed not by the political content and policies but how folk looked on TV. They probably should not be held, just TV companies have power and wants to pull viewers in regardless of other costs to the nation. (And many fall for it.)

I had a leaflet through my door yesterday from Labour, luckily I was quite close to the door when it came through, so I quickly opened the door, shouted down to the two people who were responsible for the leaflet and said 'hey there, don't want this in my house' and placed it on the doorstep. That felt good.
