Some on this site will decry it simply because, as they oh so wittily say, it's from the Daily Wail, but it's not a Daily Mail opinion piece, it is an impassioned plea from a prominent, and generally very will liked, Jew.

I genuinely find it head-scratchingly astonishing the amount of support Corbyn has - it is no secret he has courted evil terrorist anti-Jew organisations, it is no secret he has courted the IRA, it is no secret he is an intellectual minnow, it is no secret he is simply a 70s throwback Marxist agitator, it is no secret that he is economically stupid, and it is no secret he is a liar (granted all politicians are liars - so I shouldn't hold this against him).

And yet he has been elevated to the status of a demi-god.

I can only assume his supporters do not possess the ability to comprehend the disastrous consequences of their vote if, and the very thought makes my blood run cold, Corbyn and Labour were to win.

I'm no fan of Johnson, but surely he is by far the much lesser evil of the two, isn't he?

I think The Sun claims the accolade, danny, but that aside, don’t be silly. Diddly is far too highbrow to read the gutter press. The message is of no importance - simply the carrier. Funny how people have the impression that Conservatives are snobs. Me? I read anything. It's the only way to keep a finger on the pulse of the nation. ;o)

Naomi - I don't read the "gutter press" because I prefer sound journalism to sensationalism. I read the Times as well as the Guardian so I do read a right-wing view as well.

My fear is that a lot will leave the Conservatives because they, the voter, doesn't support Brexit, they'll go for the Lib Dems who have traditionally been the 'on the fence' vote. This will let the quasi-commies in who will then still go ahead with Brexit but only after their victory will cause the economy to tank and the earners in the country will pay the price of their lunatic schemes. The seriously rich will be able to get their money out of the country or keep it behind serious firewalls.

I can't agree with you that Naomi is condescending in her assessment - on the contrary I think she is absolutely on the money.

I, and I am sure Naomi, appreciate that there are thousands of Labour supporters like yourself who have made an informed choice unfettered by tradition.

But the fact remains that a swathe of Labour voters are voters because their parents and grandparents were, and they sincerely believe that Labour is the party of the working class, even though it is patently untrue in 2019.

What experience do you have of the Labour Party, Andy? Have you been to any conferences? Any local meetings? Do you personally know any officials in the Labour Party? Are you familiar with anything about the Labour Party, apart from what you read in media, which must be true, mustn't it?

I think a lot of people will vote Labour because Tory policies over the last decade have led to a growth in low-pay / low-skills / low-job-security economy, where the rich get richer and poor stay poor or get poorer. The economy isn't working for a lot of people.

I was a CWU Clerical Branch Committee member at different times through a forty-three year membership of the Union, and in that time I regularly attended committee meetings addressed by MP's and senior Party members, I have attended a number of Annual Conferences at Blackpool and heard speeches from a number of Labour Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet Members, and I have voted Labour a number of times in my forty-seven years as a voter.

That 'familiar' enough for you?

Maureen Lipman's article would stand on its' own merit wherever it was published.....it needs no editorialising.

I'm baffled by the people who can't see what is really going to happen if Labour win; that 'well-meaning' bumbler Corbyn will be elected PM, only to fall victim to the smiling assassin McDonnell and then the nation really *will* be in trouble.
