The Blairs sold their house in Islington for a big profit, too - don't remember much comment at the time
as per my post ^^
mozz 12:17 PMSL, I can just imagine him shouting "POWER TO THE PEOPLE" in his village!
//But even so, I remember Tony and Cherie Blair making a mint from property.//

Any person who becomes an MP is automatically elevated to the top 5% of earners in the UK. That's without any allowances or extra salary for specific jobs that they might receive. The only professions where the average salary is more than £80k are CEOs, senior directors and air traffic controllers. Remember that an MP needs no specific skills or qualifications, no experience. Yet they step into an £80k job, three times the national average pay and a salary which many of them could only imagine in their wildest dreams were they not an MP. So we mustn't be surprised if they accumulate wealth even if they only serve a relatively short term in office.
TBF emmie, Noo Laybore were Tory lite really, that's the only way Labour can get elected.
Blair has become a property magnate...

Indeed. Tony Blair was no more a genuine Labour supporter than I am. There has not been a "proper" Labour government in the UK for forty years. Looking at the result of the recent election there is unlikely to be one for another forty years, if ever. This country does not have the stomach for Socialism. It is to well off.
it is relatively, there are plenty of poor still, those who fall through the cracks in society's pavement.
The house has been for sale since the spring. Hardly a quick sale. Then when the money comes in Boris is apparently sharing it with his ex-wife. She has just revealed that she has cancer.
There are many many ‘working class’ people who purchased their London council property at a spectacular discount and stand to make a very hefty profit on that investment.

Are you saying they don’t deserve it either Gulliver?
the OP apart from other things is an out and out liar, im almost considering sacrificing this account to say what i really think about him/her (depending on which of its posts you want to believe)...but in second thoughts it aint worth it...but you can guess what im thinking, i imagine 99% on here are thinking the same...

Well I suppose Boris does not need the house any more, now that he is living in subsidised accommodation for the next five years, He Hopes.
10. Maybe 15.
until Corbyn is replaced Boris will stay in whatever house in Downing Street best suits him. They are all linked together anyway.
"now that he is living in subsidised accommodation for the next five years"

its not subsidised...it goes with the job...but you arent able to comprehend that so you try another one of your pathetic snide remarks...its obvious you hate his success and are jealous of it...what a sad loser you are
The longest serving PM of modern times was Thatcher at 11 1/2 years. I reckon Boris is set to beat that record.
Under a 'Momentum' government you would need £3.75m to be classed as 'working class', a phrase from the 30s. Surely anyone who works is working class. by definition.
//gulliver is a total fantasist, I wouldn't be surprised if he lives with his mum and sits in his bedroom dreaming of a Communist style superstate.//

Now that doesn't half remind me of someone who used to post all day long when Brexit was running.......Can't for the life of me remember who. (^_*)
"Well I suppose Boris does not need the house any more, now that he is living in subsidised accommodation for the next five years, He Hopes." - What with the beating your boys took I'd say Boris will be in no 10 longer than TGL herself me old china!
Labour could win if they emphasised a compassionate manifesto.
A new name? "Compassionate Labour."
