Record warm temperatures were observed across parts of the North and Western Pacific Ocean, the Barents Sea, the south-central contiguous U.S., the Atlantic and Indian oceans, the Middle East, Mongolia and northern China, and Africa. North America and the Gulf of Mexico both had their warmest Septembers on record.
