I’m just slightly disenchanted with the way it will be implemented. I was a no deal and walk merchant. But what do I know?

we'll probably end up with no deal anyway, the EUSSR have said there is no way we'll agree a trade deal by end of 2020 and the PM is adamant about that deadline and he has the oomph to override the VBQC so there's every chance.

By the way, Airbus are expanding their UK operations. I know you were terribly worried about them closing after Brexit, so that'll be a weight off your mind.

spicey is correct, I think once we are out many others will follow. Ireland will have to become a net contributor and that'll end their love affair with Brussels.

Surely not that over-priced muck from around Reims and Epernay, Tora? I've a couple of bottles of Marlborough Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc from our antipodean friends all ready to share with Mrs NJ and a couple of neighbours. There's plenty of New World bubbly to be had at sensible prices. There's some decent English sparkling now as well, but they will have to bring the price down to compete.

I've got a string of coloured garden lights I'm putting up. Twenty forty watt bulbs of the incandescent variety. None of this "lumens" nonsense. They don't like it up 'em!

Then why haven't they? You can't paint the EU as a tyrannical unbending behemoth of an organisation and then say they'll let a member state decide how borders with non EU countries will work.

for too long the Irish Border issue has been weaponised by the VBQC, not any more. If the EUSSR want one they'll have to force (good luck with that!) the ROI to build one on their side. As far as the UK goes it's never been an issue beyond the need for some to manufacture an issue.
