The taper is a disincentive.
The employee might make fractionally more money but at the expense of working for an exceptionally low hourly wage.
Anyone who has had to claim UC knows it is something that is an horrible necessity rather than a preferred option of earning a living wage.
Greggs pay more than the National Living Wage to all their employees regardless of age. Should they not be applauded for doing so?

If someone working say, fourteen hours a week, increased it to eighteen hours a week, how much would their hourly rate be, effectively?
