surely someone could have spoken out, it's an appalling case when you read what he did to women and men, glad he got a high sentence. Let's hope he's not one who does half his time and gets' out

11,000 women, men who are being recalled to check the surgery., its mind boggling.
He is serving his sentence, there is every chance that others will be brought to book now too.

No comfort to those damaged or dead of course but a stark warning for others.
whoops..mean stopping women arguing back.
Question Author
I sincerely hope others are brought to book, no one acts totally alone..
What I find even more shocking than the unnecessary mastectomies is that he left breast tissue behind, and cancer returned in some cases due to this. What an evil man.
I saw my tumour on three occasions on different medics' screens, so now worries here thank goodness!
^ NO worries Tut!

Frightening.

LB, way to go girl...
Agree Emmie. Very hard to understand. Without being too deep I would think that he was consumed with a compulsive repetitive disorder that led him to behave as if every situation was just about him. My overwhelming feeling is not that he needs help......just keeping away from other people and having no authority whatsoever.

well he's doing a 20 year sentence that should keep him away from people for a long while, except those in prison

This is a time when whistleblowers were not believed or not treated well so I suppose it was difficult for them to put their job on the line. As far as my mother was concerned her doctor could do no wrong. He was actually very good but he did once tell her she could trip over a matchstick and she really believed that was what he meant.

the red flag was raised in 2003, how on earth did others stay silent.
So many possible reasons Emmie, hopefully they'll be called on to give their reasons.
Question Author
hopefully they will.
He operated on a friend I met him briefly. Utter bully left her in tears.
But after I suffered severe complications after surgery from an overconfident gynaecologist I was told that if I complained my nursing career would be over.
I also had a varicose vein op... Supposedly a strip. Had the bandages, had the aftercare but a later scan showed I hadn't had the operation. Just a few superficial veins tied off. I was last on the list I guess he wanted to get home. No redress he is back in India now.
I’m horrified by this. Before major surgery there is a meeting between surgeons and consultants.
Question Author
that's awful Rowan..
amazed that you can talk about it, i would be deeply traumatised.
