so let me get this straight, hs2 paid for by the taxpayer, then private rails firms use said hs2
then said tax payers, pay again to use hs2 ie tickets on trains, im not getting it.

Shedman 05.15 , when Labour introduced it , the project was not going to cost any more than £50Bn , The CONs took over and the cost shot up to £106 Bn .
All rail needs to be tax payer funded, it's generally how other companies function. The Country gains by the economy thriving because of improved infrastructure so generally it is worth the investment.

If the Victorians had thought like some on here then we wold still be riding on an Ass.
gulliver it wouldn't matter who was in government the price would have rocketed. It always does.
